The Slater Foundation for Youth - Creating Opportunities. Changing Lives.

Congratulations to our Slater Foundation Scholarship recipients Kechan Bailey, Mariah Pettis, Trey Russell, Ana Galdamez, & Shakala Long!

Kechan is an 18 year old freshman at Georgia Southern University. He is a Marketing major with a minor in Business. In his spare time, Kechan loves to write, read and work out. In the future, Kechan plans on becoming the Chief Executive Marketer for the Coca-Cola Company. Kudos, Mr. Bailey and keep up the great work!

Mariah graduated from Clarke Central High School with a 4.08 GPA. She will enter Georgia State University this fall with 7 college credits that she earned as a high school student. Kudos, Miss Pettis! Keep shining!

Trey is a senior at Winder Barrow High School who is graduating with honors and attending the University of West Georgia this fall. We are so proud of this young man. Kudos and many blessings to you, Trey.

Ana is a senior at Cedar Shoals High School. Ana overcame so many challenges as she entered the US school system with English as her second language; nevertheless she finished strong and graduated with honors! As she began applying for financial aid, she learned that she did not qualify for any aid because of her residency status. We are honored to create an opportunity for this courageous young star as she endeavors to attend college without any federal support. Ms. Galdamez, keep soaring.

Shakala is a senior at Winder Barrow High School who is graduating with honors and has already completed 4 college courses. In the fall, she will be attending The University of North Georgia to study Speech Pathology. Keep shining, young lady, you're well on your way!
